Telluride is located in a canyon and the Black Bear pass 4wd trail comes down the closed end of the canyon. Black Bear is the most dangerous of the 4wd trails, jeep rental outfits will not allow you to take one of their jeeps over Black Bear but the view of Telluride from the top is spectacular as are all the tight turns on the switchbacks as you snake down the cliff. Bridal Veil Falls comes down from the top of the cliff. Most of the time you can't take a photo from this location which is on one of the switchbacks as the spray would be too great but most of the snow in the high country has melted making for much less water in the falls.
