At the end of a long trail on Kendall Mountain in front of this mine shaft is this abandoned old bus. Apparently it has been there for a long time and at one time has been lived in. It is an hour and half 4WD trip to get here and involves several steep narrow switchbacks, rock ledges, and narrow passages between trees. I had seen the bus from across the meadow and walked the last half mile as to drive any closer would involve fording a stream that had steep rocky banks and I didn't want to be stuck there along this late in the day. How anyone got it here is a mystery. This is the same trail that further on down has an abandoned boxcar that has been there for over thirty years.
