Mosque in Damascus
This the large mosque in Damascus. It holds the tomb of John the Baptist but not all his body. It seems the saints had their bodies divided up to many locations. The palace in Istanbul, in there crown jewel room, has on display part of an arm and part of the skull of John the Baptist. The mosque was very crowded with pilgrims from Iran, a real pushy crowd, visiting both the Mosque and the tomb. Outside is also the tomb of Salidin, the great fighter of the Crusaders.
