Evening of Fire

I went down to the lake in the evening to see the damage. There were a lot of crews there putting out hot spots. I was warned that one of the problems is that the trees would burn and the roots would continue to burn underground and when walking in the ashes you could fall through one of the holes.

Fire at the lake

It was very windy, 25 MPH plus, and on my way home from on my walk saw a large plume of smoke. It looked like it must be a house fire across the street from our house. When I got home I saw it was down in the brush at the lake. For the past few years there have been large brush fires near the lake but with the wind from the north it looked like this one would spread rapidly. There were no buildings there but 3/4 of a mile south there was a marina where a lot of patrol boats are kept and a large building of the water safety center.
They closed the highway and moved the fire trucks to the parking lot at the water safety center to protect it and the marina.
