Photo Trip Santa Fe to Moab

Our party of eight left Santa Fe in four vehicles on a photo trip arranged by Don Messic  http://makingartsafely.com.  The weather for the trip was great for photos with some rain and great clouds for the entire week. Even had snow the following Monday when I left Santa Fe. The car had 2-3 inches on snow on it and the following morning there was 4 inches and it was snowing when I left Flagstaff.

The first day we spent in Chaco Canyon and left Farmington the next day before dawn to get to the Bisti Badlands for first light. The following two days were spent at Canyon De Chelly where we spent the day on a 4WD trip in the canyon with our guide. From there it was on to Bluff for a raft trip on the San Juan River camping under some great Cottonwood trees.  The end of the trip was at Moab with time in Arches National Park and at Dead Horse Point.

Will post photos in separate posts to get them all in.

Beach on Cape Mears Oregon

Spent six days in Cape Mears Oregon. Rented a house about ten miles from town with a great beach and a lot of Elk nearby. Great drive into Tilllamook for groceries along the river and bay.

Arches National Park

Next stop was Moab and we got into the park late in the afternoon. A couple of these photos were taken when it was almost dark.

Evening at Arches

Canyon De Chelly National Park

An Indian Guide is needed to enter the canyon. You can walk in and we did it last time but it is a steep walk out especially with all the camera gear. This trip we had a guide take us in a jeep, easier than walking but a rough bouncy all day trip with many stops for photos.

Santa Fe to Seattle, Bisti Badlands

Drove from Santa Fe to Salt Lake City to scout out a photo trip we are taking a group on in October. First stop was Bisti Badlands arriving before sunrise. In October the first stop will be Chaco Canyon.

The Oculus

The World Trade Center Transportation Hub known as the Oculus is a Path Train stop and hub to connect with subways in Manhattan. It was completed in 2016 and is one of the most photographed buildings in New York.

Ghosts of Ellis Island

The Parisian Street Artist known as JR who is known for his large installations of photographs pasted on the sides of buildings was invited to paste up photographs in the old hospital on Ellis Island. These are copies of old photos of people who came through Ellis Islands and Doctors and Nurses who worked there.
