Clear Lake, Colorado
This was the view leaving Clear Lake an hour after dawn. the reflection was in a small pond not the lake. The lake is beyond the dark hill in the center of the photo.

Clear Lake, Colorado
On the first trip up to Clear Lake there was too much wind to get the reflections of the snow in the lake. The only solution was a early morning trip hoping to get there when it was calm. This meant driving the 4WD trail on a ledge road in the dark but the view from the top was worth it.

For Sam
This is for Samia who loves to photograph flowers and does a better job of it than her grandfather. Someday will get her here for the flower season and I will link to her blog.

Blackbear Pass
Blackbear trail is one of the most spectacular and dangerous jeep trails in the area. This is the view of the trail from the east side, on the west side it drops into Telluride, drop is the operative word as when you look at the cliff with the switchbacks coming down the Telluride side it is hard to believe it is drivable. It is still closed by snow but hopefully it will be open before I leave.

Dancing Aspen
The dancing Aspen I photographed last fall on the west side of Ophir Pass were still there, they are in an area prone to avalanches so I was glad to see they made it through the winter.

Ophir Pass
Some of the passes are closed due to snow but Ophir pass is open. There is still snow at the top, much more than this time last year.

Waterfalls in Cunningham Gulch
Went out before sunrise to photograph the waterfalls in Cunningham Gulch. With all the snow melting there were a lot of falls.

Rain in Arizona
At sunset the other day we had a storm on the other side of the lake. It's getting that time of the year when we get some rain and while it makes for some great clouds it also brings humidity. Fortunately, I have completed my project for the gallery in Istanbul and will soon head up to the mountains of Colorado to cool off. Have ten or so friends that will be there and with our 4WD vehicles will spend a few weeks on the jeep trails in the San Juan Mountains.
